NUCAP's NRS: Backing Plate Tech

For post #100 I present to you a video from NUCAP. The first half of the film shows how a bonded and integrally molded brake pad can fail in some cases. The second half shows NUCAP's mechanical attachment system.
According to NUCAP, NRS relies on a series of chips, or hooks, that protrude from the surface of the steel plate. Since the hooks are part of the plate itself, the new system offers a 100-percent mechanical lock. Height, curl and direction of the hooks are controlled and strategically positioned in the shadow of the friction. So, when the hooks are molded with friction, the steel plate and friction become one.
The video shows the plate and friction working as one, making shear and retention not an issue. The NUCAP's selling claims is that at any temperature, performance is at its maximum and edge lift is at its minimum. And, with no need for punched holes, the plate delivers more strength and stiffness — leading to less vibration and quieter performance.
