EZ Lube under pressure from state investigation, complaint



I hate posting stories like this. But, it goes to show that communication and knowledge is just as important as the right parts. I will contact Larry Hecker at the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) to get his take on the case.


BAKERSFIELD - The EZ Lube auto repair chain was under pressure with the state for allegedly cheating its customers.
The Bureau of Automotive Repair was set to shut down 76 EZ Lube stores in southern and central California.
Managers for the stores in Bakersfield said they’ve done nothing wrong, but one local man said that is not true.
Jim Newton hoped for a simple oil change and tune-up when he took his 2002 Jeep in for it’s first checkup at the EZ Lube off Wible Road.
“They told me I needed a transmission service,” said Newton, “so I said, ‘yeah, go ahead and service it.’”
