Pure Genius: Three-Wheel CRX

Lately in the news there has been a lot of hype about cross-country rallies like the Bull Run and Gumball 3000. These events can cost between $17,000 to $40,000 in just entry fees. Any idiot can enter these events if they have the money. Nothing more than a wanker parade.
Last year around this time, I entered the Big Apple to the Big Easy (BABE) Rally. It was a 1,500-mile rally from New York to New Orleans that cost $250 to enter and it had to be in a $250 car. It takes a special idiot to enter this race, and I am proud to count myself as one of them. This event was filled with real car people.
The car that should have won the whole thing was Team Triangle with their three-wheel Honda CRX. The car started out as an ice-racing car that was hit in the rear. John and his son cut the rear of the car off and welded a square tubing frame that supported a severed end of the rear trailing arm axle in motorcycle swing arm style. This feat of engineering tops even the most exotic car at the Bull Run or Gumball and would probably draw a larger crowd.
They were only pulled over once by the police in New Jersey for a misunderstanding between them and another motorist over a picture taken of his brown SUV for digital camera road snooker. The New Jersey State Police combed over the car for violations, but all they could find was a broken windshield.
